Beata
Alexander (nee Moreno)
I
have practiced physical therapy since 1982. It has been a
lot of fun and I have a very diverse background. My first
job as a physical therapist was in a refugee camp on the
Thai-Cambodian border. There I was exposed to the tragedies
of war and at the same time the strength of the human
spirit to endure such hardship. I was also introduced at
that time to the philosophy of acupuncture and traditional
home-made medicine.
In 1990, I began an intense study of Cranial Sacral Therapy
and other forms of osteopathic manual therapy. Other
therapeutic approaches include: Muscle Energy, Myofascial
Release, Strain CounterStrain, Zero Balancing, Visceral
Manipulation, Neurofascial Release and Process Acupressure.
I also began to deepen my understanding of movement
patterns and how the body begins to program dysfunctional
posturing and movement based on a chronic pain cycle. I use
therapy foams rollers and balls as tools to facilitate
movement awareness.
In 1995, I began to study with Solihin Thom, DO and was
amazed at the effectiveness of his Cranial work [Cranial
Fluid Dynamics]. It has been wonderful for me to combine
the hands-on Cranial work with assisting the person to
understand what holds them in a chronic or acute
dysfunctional state. Thus, it facilitates the person to
develop their inner resources to recognize the pattern of
their illness/pain and to find the support within that
allows for change into something new.
I have been an assistant for workshops that Solihin Thom
has taught on the topics of Cranial Fluid Dynamics,
Acupuncture (Acupressure), Allergies and Kinesiology since
1997. I have also taught introduction workshops to the
personal growth series of Being Human: the Life Forces and
Kinesiology.
In addition, I have also previously been an assistant
teacher with Dialogues in Contemporary Rehabilitation on
the topics of Muscle Energy, Strain Counterstrain and
Myofascial Release.
My private practice is located in my Holistic Health Center
– Anisha in Hawthorne, southeast Portland, Oregon. I accept
insurance and medicare clients.
Beata writes:
When we have not realized and utilized our own inner
resources that can protect and nourish us, there is often a
display of pain, poor posture, fatigue or illness.
I combine kinesiology, cranial fluid dynamics, acupressure,
zero balancing and manual therapy with therapeutic exercise
to bring joy and ease back into movement and living.
The effects of these therapies include:
• assisting one to recognize and use their own
healing capacity
• scar tissue & muscle spasm release
• proper joint alignment
• improve posture, balance and strength
• promote new movement patterns
• enhancing the immune system, decrease allergic
states

Bring joy and ease back into health,
movement, and living!
